The existing VFX series for milling of titanium alloys have been well accepted in the aerospace industry as a tool for high efficiency machining. This is because the VFX series offers low cutting resistance and high rigidity as well as providing optimum features for cooling. Additionally, outstanding metal removal rates up to 400 cm³/min is possible (with aφ63 cutter).
To complement the existing range, the new MS and HS chipbreakers have been added to MP9130, a PVD coated carbide grade
1.MP9130 grade utilises the Al-Ti-Cr-N accumulated type coating to ensure optimum heat and wear resistance. The combination of these properties gives excellent fracture resistance and a very low coefficient of friction for class leading welding resistance when machining titanium alloys.
2.The general purpose MS breaker with a wide of corner radii covers an extensive range of cutting conditions and applications.
3.The HS breaker offers excellent chip dispersal together with a strong cutting edge. Highly efficient machining is possible at small widths of cut.
