The Tsukuba Manufacturing Plant is Mitsubishi's latest and most sophisticated carbide production facility. Built just a few years ago at a cost of $200 million, this technologically advanced and automated production facility boasts a high degree of automation from robotic power transportation systems and computer-aided product design, through to state-of-the-art 24 hours a day unmanned automated carbide pressing equipment.
The Tsukuba Manufacturing Plant, despite Japanese currency appreciations, has continued to be one of the most highly productive and economical-high quality producers of carbide in the world.
The Gifu Plant is another of Mitsubishi's high technology research and manufacturing facility. Mitsubishi Materials inaugurated its tungsten carbide cutting tools production at this plant in the 1970's. Manufacturing and design has been expanded into new point and solid carbide drills, boring tools, milling cutters and PCBN tools. Our Gifu Plant continues to progress as a leader of manufacturing in the global metal cutting industry.
